As all of us up in North QLD know it has been very dry... the majority of the state is in drought.
It is 12 months to the day since the ex cyclone hit our region so a bit ironic that the news of the next one picks up today.
Although we do not hope for a cyclone the exciting bit is some rain to give relief to the farmers.... welcome home monsoon.
Get your emergency kits handy and prepare for the worst but hope for the best.....

We're half way between Townsville and Mackay and it is already unbelievably windy.
It was bin day today and any empty bin not brought in has been blown over.
We've also had two boats lose their moorings and end up on the beach.
Not a can of baked beans to be had in IGA so yes, I think people are jittery.

we must be made of stronger stuff further up here....people were worried about Yasi, myself included.....this one meh.
Even if it becomes cyclone Dylan, more people are relaxed about this...just a normal summer 😄
I,ll be **bleep** if i lose power for days again and we get no emergency payment. Would like Abbott to live up here for four days with no power and children *eye roll

Tiny Toes, I was thinking about you when I heard about this... I am sure you will be fine but after what I experienced I realised you never know.
