Looking around the net the past few days I have come across some really cool ways of re-using old resources.
The latest one I came across was this:
A company called Above+Below have teamed up with the London underground to make these shoes. The fabric is from old subway seats that have been recovered. Each train line has it's own fabric so you can even pick your own favourite train line to wear as shoes..
They are sweat shop free, made with European labour. The uppers are made of restored London Underground seat covers and the trim is 100% recycled or re-purposed leather. The soles are recycled rubber tires.
What an awesome way to recycle!
What are some ideas for re-purposing you have seen? Share your pics ๐

Moorna, I would love to see photos of the garden gates/mirrors, it sounds really lovely. I really enjoy interesting gardens that have unexpected things/sculptures in them. I am trying to make our place full of little surprises like that.

Sorry Monster but my self imposed rule is that I never post pics of anything connected to my personal life on the internet.
These sorts of things just tend to add something to what otherwise would look like nothing but a boring hedge.
I didn't trim back into the hedging very deeply as I was only creating more of a 'surface' addition.
There are a couple of real gates elsewhere through the same hedges that let you out into the rest of the grounds so the additions don't look out of place.
