Packets of a children's snack sold at Woolworths are being pulled from the shelves due to fears there could
be shards of glass in them.
The supermarket giant has issued a recall for Grinny Pea Puffs Chicken Flavour (18g bags in a six-pack) with the use-by date of August 23, 2025 on behalf of the Termnature Industry Co Ltd.
The product has been available for sale in Woolworths supermarkets and Metro stores nationally and online.
Woolworths said the product is "being recalled as a precaution due to potential foreign object (glass) contamination. This has impacted approximately 8000 products".
"Woolworths encourages customers to check the use by date and batch number of their Grinny Pea Puffs Chicken Flavour and only respond to the recall if it is one of the specific packets," a spokesperson said.
"Customers should avoid consuming the affected product and return it to their nearest Woolworths Supermarket or Metro store for a full refund.
"No other products or batches are affected by this recall.
"Woolworths takes product safety seriously and apologises for any inconvenience caused by this recall."
The supermarket spokesperson said customers can call the toll-free customer service number for more information on 1800 000 610 or chat via its website or through the Woolworths app.

Major recall of popular Kmart product
Kmart is urgently recalling a popular beverage product due to safety concerns, which has left one person injured.
The ACCC issued a recall notice for the Anko double-walled coffee cups with lids, which are available in Kmart and Target stores and online in four colours – sunset, sage, black and rose gold – between December 18 2024 and April 7, 2025.
When filled with hot liquid, the lid – which has no pressure release valve – could rapidly release and eject.
The ACCC has warned users could be at risk of “serious injury” if the lid were to unexpectedly eject, spilling hot liquid or steam on the user and causing burns.
“An injury has occurred,” the ACCC release said.
A Kmart spokesperson has urged customers to “immediately stop using the product” and return it to the store, where they will be issued a full refund, with or without a receipt.
“We take the quality and safety of our products very seriously,” the spokesperson said.
“Please contact us if you are unable to return the product or have sold or gifted it to another person.”
