A popular ice cream has been recalled from supermarkets over fears of a chemical contamination.
Halo Top have issued a recall of their Plant Based Caramel Chocolate Pretzel Ice Cream 473mL.
The ice cream is sold nationally at Coles and Woolworths as well as at IGA stores in NSW, South Australia and Queensland and independent retailers.
The ice cream has a best before of August 11, 2022 and has been recalled due to a potential chemical (solvent) contamination.
'Food products containing solvents may cause illness/injury if consumed,' Food Standards Australia and New Zealand wrote in a recall notice online.
Customers should not consume the product and return it to its place of purchase to receive a full refund.
Halo Top issued another recall in July after their chocolate flavour tubs were wrongly labelled 'dairy-free'.
Halo Top Australia has a number of dairy-free flavours for vegan eaters, among its standard dairy range.

Shame,,,,,it's rather pretty
Christmas is cancelled for one popular Kmart festive decoration, which has been recalled due to fears it could pose a risk to native plants in Australia and New Zealand, where it was also sold. The retail giant pulled the Half Wicker Wreath with Berries from shelves in-store and online on Tuesday.
The wreath, which includes a circular formation of sticks, with the bottom half covered in green foliage and white berries, had been available for purchase between September 26 and December 7 this year. Kmart has recommended any customers who purchased it during this time stop using it immediately and return it for a refund.
“The treatment given to this product has been determined to have been ineffective and it may contain unwanted organisms that could affect plants native to the country,” the company said in the official product recall statement. “The product could potentially pose a risk to native flora. Customers should cease using their product immediately and return the product to any Kmart store for a full refund. ”
For more information on Kmart’s current wreath recall, customers have been asked to call Kmart’s Customer Service centre on 1800 124 125 or visit its website: kmart.com.au.
