They had no viable warm water ports in the mid-1800's..........especially at that point in time where they were interested in Pacific colonies. Russia was the principal reason Victoria obtained HMVS Cerberus, and built gun emplacements at the mouth of Port Phillip Bay.
But Russia, as it did in 1905, had to sail a fleet over 10K miles to the Pacific.

I don't really think that Putin is pressing territorial claims ... there is actually very little independent proof of that.

So the fact that separatists movement started at the very time that continued Russian control of the Black Sea ports came into doubt is just a coincidence.
I thinks not. But only time will tell.

If you found it newsworthy why didn't you start a thread about it?
on 31-08-2014 09:26 AM
Because I wanted to see if the regular’s here, particular those who scream loudest when it comes white racism, would introduce a bit balance by starting a thread showing, when it comes to racism it’s a universal problem and not specific to one race.
That is the reason why I titled this thread the way did.
I know it was a forlorn hope, but hope springs eternal.

Ahh I see.
So this thread isn't what it appears to be.
You aren't worried about those events you mention at all. You simply wanted some threads that showed Aborigines and Asians were racist because you believe that screaming loud about white racism (which of course is the most common form) is unfair.
I say again, why didn't YOU post them if they were so important.
(BTW, I googled your Indigenous racist against Asian story and couldn't find it anywhere)
