havent had that problem for years

i recall i used to pour hot water (boil the kettle) on the windscreen then hose it off

warning , boiling water and freezing glass dont play well together

do not use hot water or you will need a new windscreen

From memory, the newspaper goes hard and lifts off, still no frost on the windscreen.

We used to put newspaper on the car windscreen in the winter, if out visiting in the evening as well.

I live in the tropics but I do remember a credit card being handy for scraping the ice off.

Said cards are probably uselesss flimsy plastic cards not up for the job these days Smiley LOL

They dont make them like they used to.

*eye roll, yeah sure

have you read pimpy's comments?

there is a shock factor of adding hot water to a frozen windshield, and it only does further damage if there is already a crack in the glass.

my glass obviously had no cracks

Don't pour boiling water on to it, it might crack the windscreen if it already has any cracks or chips.
