While wer'e travelling England and Germany all of next month, we'll be visiting my son who live just outside of London.
He sends me an email: "hey Mum, can you bring me some of that Darrel Lea Rock-lea Road? You can't get it over here. Bring as much as you can reasonably fit into your luggage. Milk chocolate thanks. Maybe a little bit of dark chocolate but not too much."
So I googled Darrel Lea to see their outlets, seeing as they've closed all their stores. Turns out you can get it at most supermarkets.
Coles had Darrel-Lea, but not Rocklea Road.
Woolworths had small bars of it, I got the last 3
Tried the IGA, they had big bars of it, again I got the last 3 on the shelf. They were milk chocolate same as at Woolies.
BUT!
IGA also had Rocky Road AND Snowy Road made by a company in the Blue Mountains name of "Whisk and Pin", which looks absolutely divine. Not cheap though, $12.50 for a 320gr block
What I liked though, is that it has "Made in the Blue Mountains of Australia" printed on the label.
Whisk and Pin Chocolatey Indulgences
What a perfect gift to bring from Australia as against teatowels or toy koalas!
Might have to get a bigger suitcase, lol.

Can you get to the factory shop? Easier than visiting numerous newsagents and pharmacies. Cheaper too.
Thanks Am, but there's no way I'd be travelling to Ingleburn if it's readily available closer to home.

Hope you have a great trip OS icy, I have great memories of touring Germany (and Austria) a few years ago with the-then Mrs Wine and 4y.o. daughter. Great scenery, great food, beer and friendly people. Lots of history and a great culture. Great driving too on those scary Autobahns - make sure you are in the correct lane ! (mind you, the drivers seem to be a lot more respectful over there (or were) - they just flash their lights from behind you rather than the great Australian tradition of monstering you an inch from your bumper accompanied by aggressive hand gestures
It also pays to know your Kartoffelpuffer from your Schweinshaxe
Have fun.
