I had to have our tile roof restored, after the insurance co. refused to pay for storm damage...due to "no maintenance."  so if you're insured...please make sure your "maintenance" is up to date.

Yes, maintenance is very important, eg re-pointing, valleys,  cracked tiles etc. But the article is mainly about the re-spraying business having cosmetic effect only. We are having mtce done right now, but almost got sold a $10K job. Got a roof tiler in to give a thorough inspection and advise what was needed.
