I had to call the vet to my house recently to give my cat some antibiotics. As she can tell when something unusual is going to happen, and she doesnt like strangers, I quietly left her shut in the bedroom.
The vet arrived and entered the bedroom. He peered under the bed and behind the curtains several times then came out and told me she wasn't there. I said she had to be. He said she wasn't but he agreed to go back and have enother look....and I followed him in.
On the face of it you might think she wasn't in the room but as good as the mobile vet is, I have to wonder about his knowledge of felines when he can't recognise a strange cat-sized lump on the bed under the covers. LOL
He peeled them back enough to be able to give her the injections which she didn't object to, but when he pulled the cover right back and she saw him - and realised it wasn't me - she shot out of the room faster than a speeding bullet.
Cats...don't you just love them?
(She's fine now BTW).

yes, had a few cats before i discovered burmese that if you needed to put them into a carry cage to go to the vets would become invisible.
the 3 burmese ive had have all been so easy to get into a carry cage, rosie puts herself in usually. i plonk it on the floor and open the door and leave her curiosity to do the rest.
scottish folds on the other hand, well, the sight of the carry cage was enough for them to go hide.

Curiosity definitely gets Burmese into a carry cage, but once in the car I had to remember to keep the windows closed as the cat equivalent of swearing could be heard loud and clear at the traffic lights.
Burmese and Abyssinians love humans and think a new one is someone to adore them....even a vet sometimes. But my current tabby and my last cat (tortie moggy) treat people with great suspicion. When the tortie passed away (cancer) the vet clinic sent me a cat-themed sympathy card where they described her as having 'a unique personality' (translation: she was almost uncontrollable at the vet clinic and would do her best to scratch them to pieces).
I've had people visit my house many many times and they have never seen my current cat.
I really do have a tabby cat....honest. ๐
