Round Table Revisited

And so Lord of the String said unto the peoples, "Go forth anew. Seek a land you can call your own."

The people saw it was good.

So, on the last day the people said their solemn goodbyes and began the long journey to the promised new land.

And so began the new land and its people were joyous!

Welcome, to the Return of the Round Table known as...

"Round Table Revisited" (RTR)

Re: Round Table Revisited

Good morning Stringers 🙂

My son is only getting half a packet of caramel eggs and a few others. I hope he doesn't mind 😄

He paid me back last Mother's Day by sending a photo of the chocolate he'd bought...criez...lol (but he did send others later...whereas I never do haha)

Flashie I'm going to copy you tonight and make hamburgers.

Has anyone here tried growing micro greens? What kind of plants are suitable?

Re: Round Table Revisited

Morning everyone.

Karen, most of the plants I grow tend to turn out micro.  The trick is, buy a nice healthy specimen from the nursery, plant it and watch it wither and get munched on by bugs and snails.

I was very very strong this year and only bought my boys one egg each.  Not really an egg but a Thornton's chocolate Charlie Chick.  They are very cute.

Re: Round Table Revisited

I must buy the hot cross buns today.  I nearly forgot.

The trouble is that all the Easter stuff has been in the shops for so long that when I see it now I think 'didn't we already have Easter?'

I even missed pancake Tuesday.

Re: Round Table Revisited

I bought hot cross buns yesterday and had one for breakfast. Yum.

But I usually don't like to eat hot cross buns due to traumatic memories of Muriel, the stray doggie we had as a child. Well, one of them...we seemed to go through heaps of dogs and cats, especially when the dry cleaning man was on his poisoning rampage. But that's another story 😄

Muriel turned up on our doorstep one day, a skinny, mangy little mutt.

"Please please please can we keep her?!"

and eventually my parents agreed, mainly because it was impossible to stop us kids feeding her and she'd moved in under the house.

Muriel was a pretty dumb dog, but really friendly. Aww we loved that doggie.

My mother named her Muriel after a rich spinster aunt. We'd only met Aunt Muriel once and she wasnt very nice to us,...she didnt like children,,,and especially not wild children from the bush 😄

Then, one morning it was Easter and the family had just sat down to hot cross buns and the annual talk about why we eat hot cross buns. There was a knock at the door!

A man had run over Muriel! And he had her limp, twitching body in his arms. And we all saw...and all the kids cried...loudly..,for ages...I remember the noise lol I was probably loudest.

Aunt Muriel eventually passed on and forgot us in her will...she left it all to the cats home or something.

Re: Round Table Revisited

Aww that's a sad story Karen. I t's funny how food, the taste or smell of something can bring back memories like that

Re: Round Table Revisited

That is really sad Karen.  Poor Aunt Muriel twitching away in his arms like that.

I have sad memories of hot cross buns from when I was a kid too.  Our little west highland terrier ate them all. Poor little fat doggie.

Re: Round Table Revisited

I knew there was a reasonI did not like hot cross buns...............except for the date ones.........and even then they were not nice this year.

My men are in the lounge watching.........(and umpiring).......the football...........so I am up here with my music playing really loud............and singing really badly..............but the music is so loud you cannot tell.

I decided to pain the grand childrens cubby house today with some left over paint hubby was going to take to the tip.....oh my goodness ...............it is bright.................I might have to tone it down and put some white in the top coat.
