Quiet but beautiful day here in the wonderful west.
A late lunch planned here - needs must as I have some pro-bono work to do.
Reading around the traps suggests it must soon be time for a shift change ![]()
.......nose back to the grindstone now ......

Good morning everyone.
We didn't hear much from Flashie yesterday Laney. Hopefully she will put photos on forum 642. Not much on the cards today but I'll see if I can get a hair appointment. I need one badly.
Have a good day everyone!

Hi folks. Hope all you mums enjoyed your special day.
Mr Elephant and I ad a lovely weekend in Collie watching the Formula Vee racing. I think my DIL must be psychic. she gave me a wooden cheese board and elagant cheese knife for Mother's Day and I arrived home last night to find no 1 son - who, being a chef, knows the way to his mother's heart - had popped in and left me three portions of very special (and expensive) cheese. Together with the Bailey's from Mr Elephant, I am set for a few very pleasant evenings.![]()

Good afternoon Stringers ![]()
Where DID that morning go?
Sounds like you all had lovely days yesterday - my mouth is watering at your cheese selection TGSE. Now we have to wait and hear about Flashie's day which I bet was enjoyable also.
Nothing much on the agenda today but I did get a phone call asking whether I could return to the scene of the last few weeks 'crimes' to assist again. I have a few other things on the agenda this week so, despite my mind being in neutral momentarily, I was soon prepared for some fancy footwork lol. Turned out to be a joke thankfully ........ so back to slothfulness today!

I had a great Mothers Day.
It started rather earlier than I had planned though.
Our house is an older house and the laundry is a separate room outside the kitchen..............and that is where we have the freezer.
Our eldest son decided he wanted a chicken burger out of the freezer before him and a mate went to the garage to play their PlayStation games.
When he came back inside he locked the back door......(as he should)
What he did not know was the youngest son was out in the gazebo.....(this is 1.30 in the morning by the way)
Why the youngest son had the urge to be on his rowing machine at that time in the morning may remain one of the universes unsolved mysteries.
But obviously he could not get back in..............(I didn;t ask did he try the cat flap.........after all it was 1.30 in the morning)
So............our son went around the front (which would have involved him climbing over a locked gate.....no one is going to steal our car again)............and went and knocked on the front door.
Of course we did not hear him................(after all it was 1.30 in the morning)..................apparently he rang the doorbell a few times too.
Soooooooooooooooooooooooo.......he decided the best way to get let back in was the sneak around to the side bedroom window and put his hand in a rattle the blinds to wake me up...........(as it was 1.30 in the morning I was asleep...............most normal people would be!)
I hear the blinds rattle and jump up in bed...............nudge hubby......tell him there is someone outside the window............of course he did not wake up...........( now why on earth our son did not say anything I do not know..........but as it was 1.30 in the morning I presume his mind was a tad muddled.)...............I get out of bed and go and peakout he window...............and here is our son with a silly grin on his face and he says can you let me in.
I go to the front door and let him in..............and asked him............son why didn't you use the spare key?
He said .............I forgot........................night Mum!
So he goes to bed and goes to sleep.................and of course I am then wide awake.....*groans*
But the did redeem himself.................our middle grandson wanted to cook his mother breakfast in bed but is too young to manage it by himself.............so our youngest son got up at 7 and went around there to help his nephew make breakfast and them helped him to the housework...............and then came back and made me breakfast.
So I forgave him for his middle of the night drama................(only because it was one of those moments when I realised that we did not do too bad a job bringing him up.............he is a great young man)
