We have to use that on Maggie.

We tried a few flea collars on her many moons ago..........and I think 48 hours was the best we managed to keep one on her........she always chewed through the elastic on them.

One day we were sitting in the loungeroom after putting yet another collar on.

All of a sudden we could hear this horrible banging noise behind the couch............it was Maggie.

We got up to have a look.

Our daughter started screaming and crying..........she kept saying...."Mum, Maggie is having a fit....she has a brain tumour...(this daughter is our "drama queen)

When I have a look Maggie is indeed behaving rather strange.

She appeared to be trying to stand on her back legs and then kept falling over to the side like she was passing out.

Even I started to panic a little bit.

I pulled out the couch so I could pick her up and see what was going on.

The tupid cat had somehow got her front paw stuck up through the collar............and every time she tried to stand up she woud over balance and fall over.

After I stopped laughing at her.....(and let me tell you she was not happy).....we. took the collar off

yes, they can be dangerous too Flashie, if they climb tress they can get the collar caught on a branch

we have a collar on Ghost with a bell, Bandit won't have it though He runs away from the collar lol. Big sooky I think we put it on him once and he did al sorts of weird contortions trying to get it off lol

There is a lady who walks past our house most nights with a white cat on a harness..........the cat loves it.....she stop so it can sniff things............our grandchildren love going out and talking to it.

I can just imaging trying to put Maggie in a harness...............she woudl just drop down and not move......Maggie does not do what Maggie does not want to do.

I think Maggie and Bandit are quite similar

We use Revolution on Bagheera - it's the only one he'll tolerate - and we brush him every day. We've found the fleas mostly hang around under his chin, so we've just put a flea collar on him as well. Fortunately it doesn't seem to bother him.

Are fleas State related? Or a recent thing? I'm in Vic, Had cats before, no flea probs, my daughter has a couple of cats and asked me what to use, is Revolution better than Advantage?

I'm not sure Nevyn, we've always had cats, too and it's the first time we've ever had this problem. Advantage is the one recommended by our vet and it's the one we've used on all our other cats, but Bagheera can't tolerate it - it gave him the gyps for days after every time we used it on him.

Oh, thanks. she has a very skittish cat, so maybe revolution might work better for him. The other one would probably accept anything.

He doesn't like it. We have to hold him down to put it on (he's a big cat -  9 kilos - and we have to give him two doses , one on the back of his neck and one down near his tail.)  and as soon as we let him go he rushes out into the garden and sulks for half an hour or so - but it doesn't make his skin twitchy like the Advantage did. She could also try Frontline, but our vet reckoned Revolution was more effective.

I might try revolution next time She-ele. Mine don't like having it put on either. I have to trick them into it, then they run off sulking lol
