Astronomers say Australians should keep their eyes peeled this weekend for a Geminids meteor shower.
Most years, there are three major meteor showers, and this weekend's Geminids is the one visible in both hemispheres
keep an eye out for this tonight, around 11pm Melbourne time other states have different times as shown in the article

I might get to see something if it's north east Deb. If it's more north then my view might be blocked. I'm not sure what time though for WA. It doesn't seem to go by the normal time zones but by location.

Good morning Stringers ![]()
Prim can the spraying not be done until you are heading off to work - to give it enough time not to impact negatively on you ...... or are you on holidays? Don't let deadlines for doing anything get you down Prim - those who know you care know anyway ![]()
Flashie - nice to get away with OH for a day out together .... life is always so busy for you and it sounds like you found an oasis of peace despite the chaos of the Christmas Parade. All good fun!
Karen's description of her tomato crop always reminded me of triffids trying to take over - funny memories ![]()
Deb I was reading about that meteor shower earlier today - this link will give those in other states an approximate time and where to look for them .... just scroll down to 'So when and where to look' .....
Perth is around 10pm j*oono
Edited to add link which I forgot lol

it was pretty clear outside last night Laney & I'm hoping tonight will be the same
we saw one once before and it was specatular, though it was later than had been predicted. We actually drove to a hill in a remote spot at 3 am in the morning to watch it. It was also our son's birthday, so it was a bit of a bonus for him ![]()

It's no where near me or Laney Deb. It is north east of me and I can see the smoke so I hope they put it out before the meteor shower.
That was a bad joke but it was very selfish. I hope no homes are lost. It looks like a bad one.
