Good morning Deb
Enjoy your holiday Monday - Happy Birthday Betty Two Stroke!
Nothing particular on the drawing board here today - just fighting the forces of bovine manure threatening to derail a current project.
Some might like me to throw it in but I am made of stronger stuff lol
Anyway, enough of self - enjoy your day

WOW - check out the proposed new pedestrian footbridge over the Swan River!
It is naturally receiving a wide range of positive and negative comments.
Something rather Wagyl-like about it and quite beautiful I think.
I was reading some comments and some folks thought pedestrians would have to walk up and down the curves
Similar comments were apparently made when the Sydney Harbour Bridge design was originally proposed

I'm back.................
Hubby and grandson had a bet on the football...............and hubby lost............so he has to cook breakfast this morning.........this could be interesting as hubbys skills in the kitchen are not the best.
We went to Port Arthur.................my favourite place..............and I enjoyed every minute of it.
I took so many pictures on the first day that my camera went flat..........and I forgot my charger..........(typical)

Good morning Stringers
Oops - afternoon now!
Welcome back Flashie - sounds like you had a super weekend away. Look forward to seeing your pictures (despite your lack of charger)
Just about to head out but wanted to share with you the most amazing interview I have heard for a while.
Richard Fidler is re-broadcasting some past interviews - today it was Alison and she truly was inspirational. I warn you, the interview is not a pretty one but is a shining example of the strength of the human spirit to overcome horrendous events.
Choose to listen or not - its up to you of course.

Hi folks. I'm having a bogan day - siting here in tracky daks and slippers missing our visitors (we put them on the plane back to Bribane yesterday) but thinking how nice it is not having to leap up and do anything energetic. I have lamb shanks in the slow cooker simmering away for dinner and I don't think I'll move far from my armchair for the rest of the afternon.

TGSE..........I planned on having a "Bogan Day" today too................but for some reason my freezer packed it in......................I have no idea why I am so hard on freezers............this is my third one in five years...........they only seem to last me a few months longer than the warranty....................bugger!!!
I see the boards has a new rash..............I predict it wont last long.
We did all the touristy things while we were at Port Arthur................I absolutely loved the Isle of the Dead.........(no surprises there)..................there were 1100 known burials there..............but only about 30 headstones.
We checked out Port Puer.................not much of it left................but it was the place that got Port Arthur its heritage listing..............as it was the first boys separate prison in the British Empire.
We also did the ghost tour....................amazing to walk around Port Arthur by lamp light...................no ghost though.
They guides name was Andrew.................and he had a wonderful ability to tell a tale...............made the 90 minutes just fly by.
In the Doctors house he was telling a tale about some workers who stayed there during the renovations who got a bit of a scare one night...........and as he was telling the tale he stomped one foot on the floor..............frightened the absolute carp out of me................the rotter.
Then we went down under the building that was the Autopsy Room...................there was not much in there other than a sandstone table............and a fireplace behind.............they needed the fireplace to get the ash to put on the floor to mop up the blood.
Anyway..............on the sandstone table there was a sheeps skull............apparently left from a documentary made there a few years ago.
Andrew told us a tale from a group that went through a few years ago.................
He took through a group of about 30...............and as they went into the Autopsy Room they closed the door........................................he started his talk..........................and all of a sudden the sheeps skull moved....................(insert twilight music here).........................every one suddenly went silent.
Then.............................the little mouse who was in the sheeps skull ran out from underneath the skull and ran down the sandstone table and jumped into the ladies hair who was at the end.
The lady began the scream...........(as you would).........Now no one else had seen this little mouse.
This lady by now is bashing at her hair screaming he lungs out...........so her partner think there must be something ghostly going on..............so he begins to scream and start slapping at his hair too.
Soon everyone thinks there must be some sort of paranormal stuff going on and starts screaming too.
In their rush for the door to get out Andrew get knock down and hits his head on the sandstone table...........he decides the best thing to do is climb under the table and try to calm everyone down.
The group is still screaming and in the panic can not get the door open to get back up the stairs............(meanwhile there is another group of 30 waiting outside to come in and are wondering what all the yelling and screaming is about.)
Eventually the screaming group realise they can not get out because the door opens inwards............and they get out........................run up the stairs still screaming..................and run back to the information center.
The other group of 30 awaiting to get in next are baffled by what is going on.
Andrew decides to come out from under the sandstone table to find his tour group....................when he walks out up the stairs the awaiting group of 30 take one look at the blood running down his face where he hit his head and decided there was no way they were going into the Autopsy Room either..............so they all ran screaming back to the information centre too.....................
