Oh dear Tas, that would be enough to put me off too lol...

I'v e never been much of a sausage eater myself, but my family like them. I will eat curried sausages though. Making sausage rolls, the sausage mince is pretty sticky and yucky to work with.

Can't argue with that J*oono, it was shocking and a most primal experience, but looking back on it now, I guess it would have looked hilarious from a distance.   Wish I had put something wet in the cooker with them, but not sure that would have worked either, will never know.

Love pressure cooking though, I still have the replacement one, as well as an electric version which has all the safety valves, so it seems to be safe (touch wood)!

Tas. I have never used one either, when we were kids, mum used to make us walk quietly in the kitchen, no running or noise ... Maybe it was just a ploy 😀


but it made me a bit scared to use one. I never saw any mishaps with hers though.

Yes mtn, I can understand why it would put anyone off, it was really scary and I had nightmares about it for days .. but I did get back on the horse, so to speak, but fully armed with the cookbook down to the last word until I could feel brave enough to modify my own recipes.

I think you would be happy to use one of the modern 21st century cookers Debra .... they are really safe.  Made me chuckle about "no running around" in your house though when it was being used .. I have this vision of the cooker being in complete control of the kitchen as the jiggly thing on top was hissing away ....

Good on you Tas for being brave enough to use one, they are probably much safer than they were in mum's day. Most of us seem to have childhood phobias about using pressure cookers which is a shame really

It was the jiggly thing on the top that scared me.  I kept imagining what it would do to someone if it flew off and hit them in the head.
