Tas, I have a fantastic sounding recipe for a Christmas cake and I'm determined to try it out one day. It's got the works with spices, fruit, almonds and dark rum. I've had the recipe for about 35 years and it hasn't happened yet.
My new Christmas cake tradition is just my mums old bread pudding which is more like a moist cake than a pudding and everyone loves it. I try to do two now, one for home and one to take to Christmas lunch/dinner.
Anyway, I didn't end up on a shopping expedition. When I saw how much washing had been dumped in the laundry including bed sheets I thought I had better get on to that.
Did I tell you I have a new washing machine? I seriously love it. I was worried that I was making the wrong decision to switch to a top loader but my creaky old knees are so grateful and the odd sock can always be chucked in after it has started. I had to tell the ex off though because he chucked in a pair of his jeans when I was doing a delicate hand wash. Grrrrr
After reading all of the safety precautions I was pretty certain that I'd burn the house down with it or lose a couple of children but it's all turned out well.
Here's a couple of good ones.
. Stay away from the washer when the bottom of the washer sinks into the water. - There might be an electric shock
. During operation, do not put your hands or metal materials under the washer - you may be hurt by spinning board.
. Do not install where it has rain or snow - An electric shock or a fire may take place.

A new washing machine AND all doors now painted j*oono??????
We have a top loader just because I like to be able to add stuff after the cycle has started - a matter of convenience rather than water saving
What sort did you get? Love some of the translated instructions lol

The man sounding hung over would worry me a little though, can you trust that he can do the job properly?
I can assure you that if he turned up in that state he would not get past the front door. The Company has been doing our pest inspections for years now and despite one rogue who got the DCM (don't come Monday) we have no hesitation in asking them to send an alternative tradie.
The 'rogue' arrived to do the work on a day when I was home alone and he really gave me the creeps with his suggestiveness - had no hesitation in reporting him.

It's a Samsung 7kg Laney. It was a hell of a lot cheaper than my old Asko front loader but my sister has a Samsung front loader and she loves it.
I had a look at reviews for the top loader and they are all really good. As for saving water, I'm quite impressed with that too.
When you turn it on and choose the program it jiggles the basket round a few times and decides how much water you need. It seems to get it right as when I don't have a big wash it adds the least amount of water on level 1.
Anyway, so far so good so I hope it lasts for a good few years.

Wow j*oono that is good.
We have to manually select our water levels but I am so used to that, I don't really mind. Sometimes I prefer more water to ensure a really good rinse - depends what I am washing

They are pretty Nics but I think I am more impressed with your china collection. Don't let the grandkids get into that cabinet.
I have a Spode plate that someone gave me and it reminds me of the plate on the left up the top. Who made the clowns? So lovely.
