Lucky you - wish I was the call-ee and not the call-er. I think it's going to be curried leftovers tonight. Luckily Mr Elephant is not a fussy eater.

I don't remember much about it now except that it was about race, not guilt.
We take it in turns to cook here and that suits me as I have spent a lifetime thinking of what to have for dinner.
When I did all the cooking I used to let OH know I found it annoying when he came home at night and asked "what's for dinner?".
The other day I asked the same question as I got home and he frowned and told me it was annoying when I come in and ask that ... LOL

It's almost as bad as our Mum asking what we would like for dinner (prepared to cook anything or multiple meals) and we would say to Mum - whatever you like!
Just the job of thinking about what to cook becomes a drag - if everyone came up with ideas it made it so much easier for her.
Fantastic Mum

One wonders how anyone who had been part of a larger part of society for such a long time, could have hidden his true personality, as he must have.

True Laney, look at what is happening in Australia now. Its hard to know which bit to fix. The control streak in some men or the lack of esteem and need to mother in the women who are the victims (and vice versa)

We never got asked what we would like for dinner. It was put on the table and we ate it (or at least I ate what I liked and moved the pumpkin around the plate trying to hide it.

Yes Prim the need to exercise control over another is very powerful in some, particularly those with low or no self esteem.
Your have to wonder if it is a learned trait or inherent in the individual.
