Christmas parties everywhere atm Laney
glad you finally got that window up... we still haven't had very much warm weather here.. which is unusual, we still have the heating on some nights which is unheard of for this time of the year

Morning Deb
How are the plans for Christmas Day progressing?
All the preparations for the staff party exhausted me but it went really well so was worth it. Took a few days to recover though.
Gone AWOL today - took the day off as it is forecast to be 41 here today. Went down to the beach for an early morning swim .... best move I have made today and there aren't going to be many more (moves that is).
Gardens watered in preparation for the heat - we have to nurse the hydrangeas though on these days.
Enjoy your day whatever you have on the agenda.

Hi Laney... I'm getting there... really I just need to do some supermarket shopping now. which I'm hoping to do tomorrow
and I need to do a bit of organizing in the dining room
41 degres, it's going to be hottie for you.. hope you're giving your air con a good work out . I used to have heaps of established hydrangeas here, they must've been really old as they were here when we moved in Only a couple of them left now... I struggle to keep them alive during our summers now

42.2 today Deb - second hottest day on record!
Trains have been slowed down because of the heat and have been listening to 'break-downs' on the freeways - horrendous stuck out there in that heat
Thank heavens for air conditioning - it sure has been getting a work out.
Waiting for it to cool down a bit more before we get out and water the gardens again - hydrangeas looking decidedly wilted despite the early morning watering.
Hope you get your supermarket shopping done nice and early tomorrow .... back to the grind stone for me tomorrow

Oh Deb - that last minute 'man' shopping syndrome ..... how ghastly
Nothing to organise here - well not much anyway. With my kin all back east, we are going into Wellington Square to serve the usual Christmas lunch organised by Mission Australia. Might start the day with hot cakes at Maccas first and an early morning swim
Nics - Christmas wishes to you and yours. I don't get in much these days either (at least not as much as before) but it is nice to see you and Sandy posting. Thank you for your good wishes - they are reciprocated
Sandy, Sandy, Sandy, I have been reading about your trials and tribulations and those of ooaks too
You know I don't stray from the home thread but I do keep track of you both and am full of admiration and respect for your stoicism and sunny natures in the face of the trials you have both been enduring. Happy, happy Christmas to you, Frank and your family and to ooaks and hers as well. Lets hope that 2017 is a much better one than this past year for you all

Thanks laney. I'm slowly coming good but poor old ooaks has a long haul but she is so chirpy with it all. I admire her stoicism as well, especially as she is facing the unknown. A couple of our regs have been through it and are a great help.
I don't stray much but as you know, I also keep up to date with how you are all going and miss some mia's. I didn't "know" them all though. Deb and Nic are lovely posters though.
Lovely you are helping Mission Australia laney - the real meaning of Christmas. Frank has done a lot of work for Vinnies welfare. A few weeks ago he collected a lot of donations, last Saturday he helped deliver hampers and toys to the needy and tomorrow he is santa at a luncheon put on by one of our restuarants for some of vinnies neediest families.
Following my greetings above, I hope you all have a happy and safe Christmas and for some of us , I'm sure 2017 will be very welcome.
