I was conflicted about Kvitova V Osaka Kopes as Osaka is such a delightful young lady and what she had to put up with following her win in the US Open was so poor. I came down on Kvitova's side though because of her age and the effects of the home invasion on her - Osaka has a lifetime ahead of her for more opportunities.
Having said that, I really would not mind if she won - it is going to be a great match.
Yes - YAY for Sam Stosur - that was great.
YAY also for Dylan Alcott who not only won the wheelchair doubles but also the singles. Kudos to Channel 9 for showing those matches too.

Well done to Naomi
Commiserations to Petra
Good luck to Rafa!
Morning folks - well it still is here. Looks like a beautiful day too .... we better get out into it.
Have been busy sorting out a few computer issues - hate all that stuff- happy to say it was successful though lol
Have a good day - catch up later .... MUCH later lol

it seems a bit strange with no tennis or cricket on atm. but at least I have the main TV back
I suppose the football season will be starting before we know it, but it's too hot to even think about that yet

What was the name of that old TV show? That Was The Week That Was - or something like that!
Well that was the month that was for us - where did it go?
On the tennis court mostly and now we are trying to fit two quarts into a pint bottle ..... doing all the things which were left undone in January (before it turns into February).
Apologies for the lack of replies to emails/messages ...... will get A ROUND TUIT or THEM over the next few days.
Thoughts with friends in the Apple Isle particularly - hope you are managing to stay safe.
~~~~~to our other friends - posting or not~~~~~
Wow! There's a Southerly blasting through Sydney as I post!
So cooling, so welcome.
Thrashing the trees around a bit.
No rain though.
Well that was the week that was.
Did not achieve all I wanted - was really hot here yesterday but once the Freo Docker (Doctor) arrived, things cooled down considerably.
Davis Cup qualifiers on in Adelaide atm but you don't want to know about that lol
Announcements this morning seemed to confirm that the Hopman Cup will no longer be played due to the introduction of another competition in Adelaide prior to the Aust Open. Damned shame really as it was a cracker of a competition and great for WA into the bargain.
Cooler here today - planned to get into the garden but somehow it did not eventuate. Still have not caught up on emails and messages AND the five books sitting on table in the loungeroom. Never enough hours in the day
Working three days this coming week so there go other plans.
Don't think I have forgotten you my friends - it's just ...... well you know what it's like. Hope all well with you
There's never enough time in the day.. I agree with that one Laney.. I never seem to get all the things done that I plan to do.. I always get a bit done, but not all
we had a good couple of days with a break from the heat, but it's back again now and my daughter's given me her cold
I did see on the news some changes going on re: the tennis tournaments
More of the same lack of time Deb
Actually been taking time away from the screen when I can - off to the optometrist next week for a check up.
Have been revelling in the summer fruit season - yellow flesh nectarines, Carnarvon mangoes, seedless grapes, melons of all types, fleshy figs ..... mouth watering. We are making the most of them while they are about - raspberries and blackberries too. Our local grocer had whole watermelons for $1.00 each last Friday - love checking out their Friday specials - it is a bit like a game!
Been catching up with some book reading - trying to beat the 'your books are now overdue' notices - think I am beating them at the moment.
Busy with work too - but it is not really like work ...... it is very rewarding
I have been having a read around the traps - some 'things' never change do they Deb. I am reminded of Alfred E. Neuman and the cartoon in the Mad Magazine:
Just heard Prince Leonard of the Principality of Hutt River passed away this morning. He certainly was a character and not afraid to buck the system and speak out for his beliefs.
Vale Prince Leonard
