so was it a whole little town when you went there to see it??

Ummmmmmmm NO! Apart a couple of buildings designated Post Office/Government Offices and a few other weird looking buildings (and a huge 'sculpture' of his head) there was very little there except for a lot of dust. I think our opinions were impacted by having driven along a dead straight road for miles and miles from the coast without any certainty that we were heading in the right direction (no signs whatsoever after the one where we first turned off).
Miles and miles of b***er all actually ![]()
Not the most inviting tourist attraction but I guess we can say that we have seen it at least - for the little THAT is worth lol
We could not wait to get out of there and back to the coast

"a huge sculpture of his head"" LOL
thanks Laney
the reason I asked is that on a show I watch sometimes, "Aussie Pickers"... they once went to a farm somewhere in Vic. where the owners had created a complete 1950's town on their property , complete with fully stocked shops. it was amazing, ( but slightly weird)

Sorry it took so long to reply Deb ![]()
It was definately nothing like that place in Victoria Deb!
Busy, busy of late. The Writers Festival was on in Perth and we had the pleasure of going to listen to Markus Zusak at the Literature Centre in Freo. Thought we might run into TGSE there - no - but we did run in to a couple of her associates there. It was a fantastic evening and he spoke so well and without any posturing - an absolutely delight. Have not attempted his latest book yet - Bridge of Clay - and judging by the moderator's comments, it is a difficult one to get through but definitely worth persevering.
Spent the morning in the big smoke yesterday (had obtained my visa in preparation) visiting one of my favourite grocery stores. Kakulas Brothers was established in 1929 and it is like wandering down Serangoon Road in Singapore ...... the most mouth-watering aromas in the air. I do recommend you have a look at their website. I bet you will be salivating too lol.
Apart from that ..... hairdressers, optometrists, volunteer work and out with friends etc it has been really enjoyable.
Condolences to KAK for the loss of her much loved husband - they were truly committed to each other over many years.
On other fronts, we certainly live in 'interesting' times![]()

Another week has flown by. A strange one as Monday was a public holiday here. Glad someone let us know otherwise I might have headed off to work ![]()
International Women's Day today. Did any other Stringers receive an award? Mine must have gone astray in the mail ![]()
The navy is in town at the moment and the personnel from the HMAS Success are parading through town for a traditional 'Freedom of Entry' march tomorrow.
Cooler temperatures here this week but the humidity is energy sapping. Hopefully that will ease in the coming days.
Hope all friends are happy and well ~~~~~~ catch up over the weekend perhaps

Yet again another week has flown.
What a dark day has dawned in Christchurch. Thoughts go out to everyone there. Not much more to say at the moment
Hope all my friends are well. You are so often in my thoughts and despite real life taking over and my not posting much these days, please know that you are not forgotten.
Take care ~~~~~ ![]()
