Hi folks ~~~~~
Seem to have knocked whatever bug it was on the head finally! Thanks for asking Nics 😃
Big Derby weekend here for us - the match today against the Eagurls is all important. Your boys are having an up and down town in Hobart at the moment aren't they Nics!
Thought we would watch the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics early this morning - it started at 1.30am here - it was one of those things - once you started it was impossible to turn off in case you missed something exciting so we watched it until just after 6am when the 'cauldron' was lit. Feeling a bit ragged now but must stay up to watch the Dockers this evening.
The rain there threatened to swamp a few (not to mention the athletes on the boats in the pouring rain) and the kids on cycles and skate boards on those platforms on the Seine sure were taking risks. Was wonderful to see Nadal carrying the torch too - he sure looked proud to be doing that also.
That mechanised horse galloping all the way along the Seine was magnificent - would like to know what was propelling the vessel they were on. Also want to know how the balloon (cauldron) will stay up there without obvious means of being tethered. I am sure someone will be able to explain or there will be more photographs which might answer the question.
Anyway - have a great weekend folks - we have blue sky and sunshine here - at least for the morning

Apologies for being so gauche as to play the Dockers theme song yesterday 😯
Congrats to your Cats yesterday Nics. Oh Kopes, I am guessing that you will be pleased when this season ends - your Tigers cannot seem to win a trick at the moment 🙄
We have put aside todays matches to replay some of the Parisian highlights - there are so many really! Fantastic to see France celebrate its art, culture and history in such a colourful and diverse manner. With each new scene came surprises - some of which required an understanding of their history - others just so playful and thumbing their noses at any opposition. Remember our lawnmowers and water tanks?????????
Did you watch the opening ceremony folks? Any favourite images for you?
Anyway - enjoy your Sunday whatever you are up to ~~~~~

Good morning from a cold and wet Monday morning. Thanks for the congrats Laney hey had me concerned in the beginning but came up tops later. Your guys had a good win too. Sorry Kopes re tigers:-(
I am enjoying watching the games and great to see we won another gold overnight. Watched some skate boarding and didn`t realise how young they are. The gymnastics is excellent too.

So much to watch - so little time Nics!!!
We have been watching the equestrian events, the gymnastics (isn't Simone Biles AMAZING) and the skateboarding amongst other events as they are broadcast. My knees ache watching the skateboarding but then I am just a bit older than the competitors (giggling here).
Sick of reading about folks totally misunderstanding and misrepresenting the Feast of Dionysius as the Last Supper. Some will take ANY opportunity to criticize someone whose politics or opinions contradict theirs - they would do well to do some reading to educate themselves first!
Jess Fox got her gold - we did not watch that but listened to the results on the radio. Super for her. I think her sister is also participating in Paris (not entirely sure about that though).
More rain here today and for the rest of the week. I want to know at what point 'showers' become 'rain' - the BOM always seem to forecast 'showers' although I just noticed that 'rain' has entered into their lexicon this week in Perth! I must make enquiries 🤣
Stay warm and dry Nics - catch up later in the week I hope.
~~~~~ to you and Kopes ~~~~~
Poor Kopes - I hope he has not given up - next season will be better for his Tigers
Fingers crossed for our Dockers tomorrow!!!!!
Sunshine today and NO RAIN!!!!!
Tomorrow is forecast to be the same - blessed relief.
Oh yes Laney the game was so close and I was very relieved when the siren sounded. Sitting 3rd atm but after todays results I think we will go down. I couldn`t believe the scores of the Sydney game, wonder what`s going on there as they aren`t playing very well at all.
Good luck for your dockers Laney and sorry Kopes about your Tigers.
I am enjoying the Olympics and have woken up to see some live games.
Hi Nics
Hope things are a bit warmer for you today - it is absolutely freezing over here - well it was when we got up at least lol
Don't even mention the match yesterday p-l-e-a-s-e 🤐
Went to the vampire this morning and found it was a bit warmer so going to repair to the garden to do some long overdue weeding.
Enjoy your day ~~~~~~
