We have friends holidaying down there at the moment (tourists!!!!).
Waiting to hear from them as we have no idea where they are.

It's just shocking, all those beautiful forests burning. I hope the tree woman is safe... That anti logging protester who has lived up a big tree for years. I sometimes read her blog, but mostly i think about how she goes to the loo lol

I worry about her support crew who camp underneath lol
perhaps i shouldn't read her blog, it distracts me from the issues

How long has she been up the tree?
on โ06-01-2013 12:28 AM
...and exactly what area is she in?

She's been up there for years. It's a huge old tree and she has a pulley to get down. She lives on a platform (it'll probably kill the tree one day lol). I don't know the area

We had a fellow over here up a tree protesting at it's removal by the council. He was up there for weeks or maybe a month or two - nothing like her length of stay of course.
Eventually there was a court order served on him - he had to come down - and the tree was removed ๐

I love what they do in the eastern suburbs, when people poison those beautiful big trees to improve their views. Council now puts up a massive billboard with tree laws on it, right where the view is :^O
