It is still early here but already we have the aircon fired up.  Thank heavens we don't have to venture out today.

Will be keeping a close eye on what is happening around the upper mountains where my kin are - at least all the National Parks have been closed but that does not stop some fools as we have seen very recently over here 😞

Up there it would be impossible to cut off all points of access.

So far so good here re the weather. Everyone's on high alert re fire, but apart from that, the heat is bearable so far.

Of course, that's easy to say here in my nice cool reception. I'm actually wearing a light cardigan.

Travelling to work is a breeze so far, with the aircon on high in the car, thanks Prim.

Not looking forward to kids back to school, though. Lots of trucks on the road this morning headed both north and south.

You got a jigsaw for Christmas, Prim? 😮

Glad to hear you are keeping cool - even thought it is at work 😉

I am just 😮 here - our major taxi company here in Perth is planning to charge a $9 'turn up on time' fee for pre-booked cabs!

We do not have enough taxis here anyway and they are notorious for turning up late or not at all.  Given that our public transport to/from the airport is almost non-existent, for some, taxis have been the only way to get there (except for a few private shuttle services).

I am afraid that this latest move on their part will not win them any accolades.

Hi Stringers 🙂 what a long, hot day... now I feel all grumpy 😄

The gourd lady didnt have any left, but I found a box of hot chilies on someone else's verge, so I took a couple. The sign said "very hot" and they're shaped like a bell, not sure what type they are. I will cut one onto my salad tonight and let you know if the sign was right.

ooh.. Before I completely run out of energy I'll run up to the watermelon house and see if there are any left. To get to the watermelon house I have go go past the tomato house... the man there has massive tomatoes, the biggest I've ever seen. However, I will not be stopping there.
