Hi Clair... Yes, in one way it was pretendy, but in another it was not. The pretendy part was the travel brochure advertising golden beaches and handsome towel boys. The brutal reality was nothing like that.. and worst of all, reading boards whilst not logged in means the ignore doesn't work, so I was confronted with seeing nasties and 1980s bat pics :_|

How did the pink fishing rod go? I hope she caught a fish... It's so exciting when kids catch fish.

Ohh she casts in like a champion but for now we have put just a sinker on it, no hook. Whenever my husband caught a fish she reeled it in and she fair dinkum knows when the end of his rod is moving and she yells 'look grandad a fish!'

That's a good idea to have a sinker with no hook. I sometimes do that myself, when i go fishing but dont need to catch any. That means i get to go to beautiful fishing spots and play pretendy fishing.

I remember when my son caught his first fish at about 3 ... a huge trevally... and he was so determined not to lose his new rod, he almost got dragged in lol.
