Good morning Stringsters 🙂
Big sleep in this morning 🙂
It is freezing here but bearable. Isn't it nice to see that LOL cats are welcome all over CS. They give me a giggle 🙂
The cartoons which troll aren't so nice but I guess we can't have perfection.
Have a great day everyone!

Morning everyone 🙂 A special good morning to our latest MIA 😐
I think a trip to Bunnings is in order today. I've been meaning to go and pick up some things that I've needed for a while and now I can't remember what they were so I will have to think what they could be first.
Otherwise I will just have a look around the garden centre.
Sunday breakie first 😄

Joono, go and stand where you were when you first thought about what you needed and you will remember 🙂 I do that and it always works LOL
We had brunch because we got up so late and that should be enough until dinner time.
I am sitting here watching my neighbour desecrate the Jacaranda tree on the nature strip 😞
Each year he trims it about two thirds to a leafy green ball shape. I am sure he thinks he is doing a great job because it looks tidy however the tree hardly ever flowers because it is always recovering from the harsh trim.
It had finally grown to a good size and I was looking forward to next November but on hearing a sawing sound I looked out the window to see the old codger up a ladder sawing away.
When he is finished I will take a photo. Get your tissues ready 😞

So, here is the tree that, at dawn this morning, was a 30ft dia. green leafy beauty 😞

That's a shame, Prim 😞 I love jacaranda trees. My dad planted one when I was born, so by the time I was big enough to climb, I'd spend a lot of time up there. That reminds me of my friend Mandy who used to wee herself when tickled... and I tickled her as she was shimmying up the trunk above me.., so her jeans copped it, but so did I :^O
when we moved out of that house, the new owners chopped the jacaranda down.

The Matron of a maternity hospital in Sydney gave every couple a Jacaranda as they took their newborn home. That is why there are so many Jacarandas around Sydney. I wonder if that is where your dad got your tree?
"Note to self: do not tickle the climber above me when I next shimmy up a tree"

:^O Deb!
Prim, I wasn't born in Sydney, but my mother worked in a hospital there before getting married so I suspect that's where she got the idea. I hadn't heard before about the jacaranda gift before 🙂
