Well it is inscribed 2003 so I would say that long. It's my fave too. We have some other public commissioned art in the area but that one is my favourite.
It is not treated as kindly as the Brussels boy when people dump their rubbish in it.

.....stand and applauds j*oono for venturing into 'thongs in winter' territory ![]()
What a super installation j*oono - thanks very much for sharing the photos. I was wondering what stopped pedestrians from tripping over them in an inebriated state - looks like they preferred to use it for their servo and fast food disposal stop!
They really are very cute.
I will take a couple of pics in the next couple of days and post them here - nothing quite so cute as those, but I still like them.
The topic also got me thinking about 'Il Porcellino', a boar, a copy of which was installed outside Sydney Hospital in Macquarie Street (in Sydney obviously lol) The original is in Florence and used I used to rub it's snout every time I walked past it to work. Doing that is said to make sure you return to Italy - I was living there so I guess it worked lol. I stress, I did NOT try to rub any part of the Manneken-Pis in Brussels though ![]()
I have never kissed the Blarney Stone though - although some might argue I have ![]()

Icy it is in Perth - not Tasmania but, but, but we have been having some really cold weather lately lol
I suspect the crest might be the Local Council crest - the word 'servire' might suggest the council is there to serve - some who live there might say that is debatable ![]()

Oh that's right you and joono are in Perth, Laney.
It's Flashie that's in Tassie.
Those little bush animals are beautifully cast. One of these days I'll visit Perth.

Are you crazy!!!! LOL That was not me in thongs. I was wearing boots and leggins. Whoever that was must have been freezing because it was only 14 degrees at the time.

Yes, it is the City of Gosnells crest.

Doh! Just realised what you meant Laney. I was in thongs territory, not that I was wearing thongs.
OK, I'll stop now ![]()
