Round Table Revisited

And so Lord of the String said unto the peoples, "Go forth anew. Seek a land you can call your own."

The people saw it was good.

So, on the last day the people said their solemn goodbyes and began the long journey to the promised new land.

And so began the new land and its people were joyous!

Welcome, to the Return of the Round Table known as...

"Round Table Revisited" (RTR)

Re: Round Table Revisited

Great memories for you both to reflect on Prim but more particularly - for her Smiley Happy

One of the very special patchwork pieces in the quilts of your lives!

Re: Round Table Revisited

For Mothers Day this year I was given about 100 freesia........which I planted in my planter boxes.

They are just now coming out in flower............and I am a bit disappointed in them.

They are meant to be mixed ones.............and all I have is yellow and white.

And the perfume is no where near as strong as the ones I already had from years ago.

Did I do something wrong with them..............should they have been fed or something.

I was really looking forward to having the windows open and smelling the perfume through the house.

Re: Round Table Revisited

Aww that's a shame Flashie, about them all being the same colour, but I must admit, the cream ones are my favourites, and I think they're the most strongly scented ones too. I don't have any, nor have I got any room for any, so I can't give any advice on how to grow them

Re: Round Table Revisited

I have a few 100 really old ones.............they have been multiplying for about 20 years..........and they are devine.....smell beautiful but are rather small.

The ones I planted this year have really long stems...........and the flowers are much bigger...........and the perfume is only about 50% of the other ones.

Re: Round Table Revisited

Flashie I know it is not going to help you now but if you have room, try to find somewhere to plant a Cestrum Nocturnum  - it is night blooming jasmine and has the most delicious perfume on a summer evening.

I am not sure about your weather conditions but it might be worth trying - just a thought anyway

Re: Round Table Revisited

I jsut googled that Laney..................I might keep an eye out for it............would it grow OK in a pot.

Does anyone have an idea of what these plants are I grow in my garden.

They are a bush that grows from little black seeds..........they grow to about 1 metre............the ones I have get yellow flowers on them..........some are pink......and some are both pink and yellow.

The flowers only come out at dusk or when there is no full sun.

They start growing about the end of November........and die off about the end of March..............but before they die all the flowers die and they shed squilllions of black seeds.............and then the cycle starts all over again.

Re: Round Table Revisited

Initially it would grow in a pot but it does grow quite straggly and leggy Flashie. It is a bush rather than a pot plant.

It requires heavy pruning to retain its shape after it has finished flowering and for maximum effect I always like to plant it not too far from windows so the perfume wafts through the house.

If you have a space for it I do think you would enjoy it.

Do you have any pics of the flowers you are describing?
