Pimpy, when I used to do that with the ashes, I didn't rake it in and it went rock hard on top and water couldn't penetrate the plant roots, so make sure you do rake it into the soil

we lost quite a bit in the early stages last year due hot windy days .We are using tunnels this year and hoping that helps protect the young plants .

Haha Joz, you're addicted to this high quality thread 😄 I used to ask the same question of myself when I read beanie's thread every day, so I had to cold turkey. I lasted weeks and weeks, but my awful friends would post snippets and force me to catch up 😞
