oh Laney, I hate to tell you this but those old tyre swans are now worth a small fortune. If you see one, grab it ![]()

It's just so wrong Deb. They won't take tyres, batteries or parts of cars so during the pickup certain types will dump it all on someone elses junk just to get rid of it. Grrrrr

OMG Deb really? No accounting for taste or lack of it lol

Oops. I'm a bit slow, missed a few posts. I remember the tyre swans . Wow, they were horrible LOL

Talking about taste or the lack of it I am looking for one of those old wooden bead type things to hang at one of our double doors onto the back terrace.
We like to leave the doors open and LL can come and go as she pleases but on Thursday two pigeons decided to pay us a visit (why or why does that happen when I am home alone :-() Getting them out was quite a scene lol
I don't want screens on the doors and thought one of those old fashioned bead curtains would be good. Trouble is they all look so cheap and nasty.
I might have to get out my old macrame books and see if there is a pattern for one that I can make. Seems quite appropriate for a stringer lol lol

I think that is a good idea if you can make one Laney. The only ones I have seen have been horrible plastic crystals and beads and not even long enough for a standard door. I really quite like beaded curtains even if they are old fashioned.
I used to buy beads in Gone Bazaar quite cheaply but they have closed down in this area.

There is a bead shop here in Freo j*oono. Might pop in next week and see what they have - should not be difficult to make and integrate some quality beads in it to give it some weight.
At least it would stop the pigeons coming in - and I do quite like the old fashioned ones too. They would match the house and decor ![]()
The ones I have seen around the traps are positively revolting - plastic beads, chains and crystals arrrrrrggggghhhhhh

That's no good Karen. Now he will be too sore to fill your garden beds.
I was wondering about Clair. The satisfaction would have been immense so it was worth it.

Isn't it funny how some members only ever post when there is a bit of biff going on.
