hi Karen, the tree is still in it's box in the hallway but I did go out and buy some solar fairy lights that I've been playing with outside

Good morning Stringers
Yesterday developed into a hectic one so I did not get back in to post. I did catch up on my reading a bit though late last night
Enjoying your Christmas LOLcat thread Flashie - I will have to try and find a few pics to make a contribution but you are the past master at them lol
Prim, your Mum and mine were so alike in so many ways. Many have forgotten such wise words or perhaps they did not have the benefit of Mum's like ours. You have to feel sorry for them if that is the case.
Another beautiful day in the wonderful west - in between a swim and gym I have managed to put up our front door wreath. It would make a great entry on the ROUND thread but afraid I don't have time to take any pics at the moment.
Karen, I have made an executive decision to white-out of my diary any further 'Christmas' functions at work this year. I am still trying to recover from last week's disastrous 'function'.
Have to post and run right now - will look back in later tonight. Have a great day everyone.
P.S. Deb I remember your beautiful tree and am looking forward to seeing this year's one when you have finished decorating it.

I have a tree but it has an eagles nest in it, well it's not my tree but it's kinda cool. I was lucky enough to see the eagles when the baby was just out of the nest, they have since moved on but I saw two of them circling high up in the sky

Yeah not really near my house but a place we often go. I don't know if they return to the nest each spring? And it was only 2 weeks ago I saw the three of them but on the weekend only two cirlcing so that leaves me to wonder what happens to the baby? Does it have to go fend for itself, find a new area fairly soon? I know they are very territorial and I know their territory extends for miles.
They were wedgetail eagles

When we were kids Dad would take us out fishing and shooting.........(being the only girl I quickly learned to like the boys stuff.........or I would have to stay home)
Back then there used to be bounties on Hawks and Eagles.........................and my brothers would shoot them if they saw any..................terrible...............but they did not know any different back then.
I also remember my youngest brother arguing with our middle brother...........(not a good idea...........he had a rotten temper)..........................and...............my middle brother told him he had 10 seconds before he shot him..........(it was a slug gun).........................and my silly youngest brother remained arguing for 5 of those 10 seconds.
Yepppppppppppppppppppp..................he got shot in the butt.
Dad was furious.............middle brother got an old fashioned belting..................but was unrepentant.
