Hi Karen
At least your were rewarded for cleaning your son's bedroom - don't spend it all at once though lol
Did you have to go to a Christmas party today or am I mistaken?
Today I have re-learned the sheer delight of an afternoon nap with the breeze gently wafting through the front windows

Pistachios, Laney.
I am going to do a dark chocolate bark with pistachios, marshmallow and glace cherries. I also bought some red currants but I'm just eating them. I hope I can get some more in a couple of days because they would look really pretty on the trifle with some chocolate curls maybe.
It's good when you are not having to organise the whole lunch because then you can muck around making goodies.
Karen, I would want a lot more pay than that to clean my sons rooms. Gross.

Something I just read took me back to my bridge playing days lol
Games were peppered with calls for 'Director', 'Director' when someone disagreed with the interpretation of an opposition call or play. So often the director was a sour-faced old biddy who, as the name suggested, was expected to direct the players based on his/her interpretations of the issue which the players would have to accept.
Fortunately, posters here do not have that authority and the sooner they realise it the better!

It sounds divine j*oono even though I rarely eat chocolate. I could be sorely tempted to try your 'Bark'. The glace cherries are a great addition and will certainly give a festive colour to it.
I used to make a 'stained glass window' cake and I just loved the colours and look of it - it tasted so yummy too. I have not made one for a few years but your recipe made me think of it ...... I might just have to get the ingredients tomorrow lol

That sounds good Laney. Someone once put the recipe for stained glass biscuits here one year. They look great too.

If beef or lamb are what you feel like - then just have that!
Just make sure you do not leave it in the shopping trolley
It is the company (and of course your Christmas tree) that matters and makes the day festive lol
I prefer chicken over turkey anyway and quite often serve it with cranberry sauce through the year lol
A magnum sounds like a good plan lol lol

Hi Everyone , hope that you are enjoying your day.
Laney, my good mornings really aren't standard when the first time I post here is in the afternoon and I forget that it is afternoon lol.
Take care all

Ah but Iza - don't forget the 3 hour time difference. It was still OUR morning when you posted (at least I think it was) so you are excused!
You could always say you were working on WA time if you were challenged by anyone lol
