LOL Deb, I didn't mean to infer you don't always have an enjoyable Christmas....I had misread your first post today and thought you were cooking lunch for your family and cooking for your extended family for dinner. That was why I thought you had a long day ahead.
Off to Bunnings for us, we have to buy a long ladder. We have struggled with a short one for many years but balance is starting to be a problem.

haha Prim no, I didn't think you meant I wouldn't have a nice Christmas lol
we have something on this afternoon and tomorrow morning, had to turn something down tomorrow night,
we take turns at having the big family Christmas evening, this years it's my brother's turn, and we all take a plate

Morning everyone. It sounds like everyone is organised. I've only just started my grocery shopping list. I asked my son what he really likes that we always have at Christmas and his reply was potato salad. Hmmm, I was thinking of something more seasonal but it's a start.
All I do for Christmas eating at home is a snack meal for Christmas eve just with a little bit of ham and a few prawns, cheese and bickies and.... potato salad. All of my Christmas cooking is to take with me for the big day.
Mustn't forget the curried eggs! They won't be leaving the house.

Good morning Stringers ![]()
My mouth watered Prim when I read you were having chilli crab (and yes I know exactly who you were referring to). It took me back to times spent in Singapore, feasting on chilli crab off zinc tables on the East Coast. Table manners were non-existent lol.
Nothing much on the agenda today and definitely no shopping! You folks put me to shame with all your preparations. My kin in the mountains are, like you all, preparing for Christmas Day. My niece is THE most fantastic cook and she has sent me her menu for the day ..... she is the real Christmas Fairy!
Given MY kin are so far away, we volunteer at the Mission Australia lunch in Wellington Square on Christmas Day - always well attended. Just hope it is not TOO hot as it is held in a huge marquee and, despite them having lots of fans there last year, it was still pretty uncomfortable.
Flashie - just saw your post in the picture thread - what a lovely thing to do ...... obviously folks are very grateful for all the effort you and your OH go to to bring pleasure to others at Christmas time. Fantastic!

I've been a bit naughty too Deb. I had my ginormous brunch and I've been nibbling on the pretzel bark too but I spent the afternoon washing windows and I even gave my car a bit of a wash so that sort of makes up for it.
Having a break before dinner and I'll finish the windows tomorrow. Or next year.

well, it's that time of year Joono, good eating habits just fly out the window

Good luck with that Joono,
we'll definitely be going for a walk tonight, lol

We went for our walk tonight and there were heaps of people.
It was a rather warm day today so maybe they were all doing it tonight instead of during the day.
We got pulled up on a breathalyser about 10 houses from home...........part of our street is often used as a way of getting off the highway to cross the Bowen Bridge..............and I guess the Police were trying to catch those that do it.
We had a bit of a photo session here this morning...........our youngest grand daughter is terrified of Santa...................but just adores her Poppy.
So we thought we might get a Christmas picture if she came around here and got dressed up with Poppy and sat in the sleigh with him............................here is a picture of our stand off.
I have a brillian picture of her when she first saw her Poppy dressed as Santa ....but I want to save it if we have Christmas as this weeks photo challenge.
