You early birds have put me to shame. I woke at six and thought I would just get 10 more minutes. Nearly three hours later!
We did have some tropical looking clouds around yesterday evening Laney. Nothing came of them though. Luckily today is my watering day because already the lawn is going crunchy.

Don't feel ashamed j*oono - I crawled back into the cot and did not wake again until 8am ![]()
Got the library books collected, went to Elmar's for some mouth-watering 'supplies', to IGA for some bits and pieces and then home. The parking areas were remarkably empty and the centre of Freo is as dead as a doornail!
Going to settle down and listen to the cricket in aircon comfort - such a hard life ![]()
Might have a look and see what Sandy has been cooking up - I bet she has been cooking up a storm!
Will also check out Freddie's bathroom progress - has she decided on a curtain ..... has she not?
Also want to see if Boris has put up any of her old garden pics - looking forward to seeing them if she has.
All will be revealed in due course!
Deb - perish the thought but I bet you are shopping erk!

Good evening Stringsters
Well, that was a bit of a long lunch, last of the visitors has just left. I am totally exhausted but exhilarated at the same time. Such interesting people, all very special in their own way.
One of them, my Sri Lankan friend (Laney, I think you will know to whom I am referring) decided she would bring a treat..... she bought several blue swimmer crabs and proceeded to cook up a storm. all in a very short time and seemingly little effort.
I have never tasted anything like it and it was a.m.a.z.i.n.g........Such subtle flavours, not quite curry, not quite anything I can ever remember tasting but so so delicious. Everyone ate it to the last morsel. I had bought some sourdough rye bread for the weekend so I toasted it and we soaked up the juices with that.
Relaxing in front of the TV would be an option for tomorrow if I didn't have to do some Christmas shopping. I am hoping to get it all done so I can wrap and forget. Famous last words LOL

Sounds like a great day Prim.
Hubby and I went for our walk today..................only trouble was there was an icecream van at the beginning............so we bought one............and then felt guilty so walked it twice...............
.............my feet were burning by the time we got home................(gives a change to it being my ears that are burning.)
Hubby's sister called in today with presents................ours was a 1000 piece Christmas Wasgij puzzle..............so I have been doing that while the men watched the 20/20 game.
There are bus loads of people/kids tonight...........every night until Christmas now will be a huge one.

Good morning Stringsters
I must have been tired...I went to bed at 7.30pm and woke at 8am (insert surprised smiley)
I am sure you burnt off that ice cream Flashie and I think your new get fit target is safely on it way to a bullseye.
We are putting a new cover on the gazebo today. This will be interesting.
Have a great day everyone!

morning all ![]()
we did go out yesterday Laney, but we're staying a way from the shopping centres. I just have a few more things to get for our Christmas dinner, but other than that pretty organized now.
this year I'm cooking a traditional roast chicken lunch at home as I always do then we're going to my brother's place in the evening
Flashie, that's kind of funny having the ice-cream, but it sounds like you both paid for it lol
Prim, you must've needed a good sleep

I am all organised for Christmas Day............all I have left to get is the fruit.

this is a pretty difficult week to watch what you're eating Flashie''I just have to get the chicken, I usually buy a specially seasoned one, and some of the veggies to go with it.
On Friday the supermarket was a bit chaotic, ![]()
so I expect it will be worse over the next few days
oh and the ice cream, I must'nt forget the icecream, I like brandied custard sauce with my plum puddding, but some here like to have both

I always go to the supermarket early (8amish) on Christmas eve and it is always most deserted. Never had a problem getting exactly what I needed to buy except last year. I buy small free range unteated chicken but last year they did not have any. When I asked if they were about to put more out on the shelves I was told that don't stock that line the last week or so because they need the room for larger chicken and turkeys.
I have taken leave before Christmas this year so I've shopped early and have most of the items I need so really just chicken and racks of lamb to buy on Wednesday.
Gifts are another story. I don't have many and have a lot of shopping still to do.
Seems you have a very long but enjoyable Christmas Day ahead of you Deb ๐

oh no, they would never forgive me if I don't get the chicken, lol
I had a look on Friday, but the only ones they had were use by the 25th. I' m hoping they get some more in this week.
Prim, we always enjoy Christmas ![]()
