I don't think it was meant as a 'king hit'.
It looks like he did a backhand fist, possibly intended to hit him on the chest but got his jaw instead.
The 2 apparently are friends and played golf together before the incident.
So I doubt there was a malicious intend.
I still think a 5-7 week ban is necessary.
More to get the message out for players to think twice.

Wrong choice of words on my part Kopes.. I also think he meant to aim for his chest

Afternoon folks
Will be 'interesting' to see if the Eagurls appeal the 8 week suspension. Their track record in recognising that they are in the wrong is not good and the culture they promote is arrogant and objectionable.
Simpson bears the responsibility of sending him back on the field after the event (no duty of care towards him) and Nesbitt ..... well his press conference was vomit-worthy. His efforts to portray the two Andrews as 'friends who played golf together recently' has been exposed as untrue and his nit-picking about how far off the ball the action took place was pathetic.
Hope for a speedy recovery for Andrew Brayshaw.

Good evening folks
Agree with you Kopes about the need to be strict about any unsportsmanlike behaviour in any sport.
Now the dust has settled a bit though, serious questions should be asked of the coach and the CEO regarding their actions, and both Andrews be left to heal (physically and emotionally) out of the media spotlight. R U OK should be the only questions they are now asked for the good of their mental well being.
Moving on ........ Deb there appears to be a rash of multiple personality disorder around the traps. Don't know how you and your friends (and mine) can be bothered even responding - just laugh, grab a cupcake and keep enjoying the company of good folks
Good to read your Dad is progressing well.
Sandy I am so sorry that you , Frank and family are faced with such an unconscionable landlord - I think oaks said .... karma ....... and I totally agree with that. It will come but it does not help you right now. I am sure you will find a solution .... just at the moment it all sounds awful
So very, very sad what is happening in Lombok .... so many lives lost and the most terrible conditions to be endured there.

Where did those days go!!!!
The weekend has dawned with beautiful blue sky and sunshine so can't wait to get out in it after a few days rain.
Sounds like you t'othersiders (particularly Sandy and Freddie) have similar lovely weather but with higher temperatures than we had this morning - could not believe how cold it was.
Good luck today Tigers although I doubt you will need it. I see Frank got a good win last night with his Dons .... well done - final eight still a possibility ๐
Never thought we would barrack for Port but today we are! I wonder why
Seen it all now and what a charmer! 'with respect' means no respect in the context of 'relief' from the aches, pains and meds of others. True colours exposed.

Hi laney. Time sure does fly. Good you have sunshine - our days have been beautiful. Freddie and I are usually about the same.
Frank was pleased with the bombers but I think they needed to beat Collingwood to have a chance. Never mind, there's more importan dilemnas going on. Go the Tigers now.
We are running around like chooks with our heads chopped off having to find somewhere short term. The owner had every right to sell his other house if he got a good offer even though he told us we could stay here until our house is finished but a bit peeved with him not letting us out of the lease if we find something earlier seeing he put us in this position.
Frank was discharged by the surgeon this week and only has to be on warfarin for 2 1/2 more weeks thank goodness.
Terrible weather at the moment Deb - don't miss that. We will have a bit of torrential rain in spring but it usually doesn't last long.
Best keep packing. Have a good weekend.

Hi Sandy
Super news about Frank's discharge and that he can soon look forward to discontinuing the warfarin too!
Understand the owner has every right to sell his house but not to allow you early release in the event you find suitable short term accommodation is the unconscionable part particularly as he had so recently guaranteed you could stay on an extended basis. Still, what is done is done and you just have to get on with it in your inimitable way.
Freddie I was interested to read about your family home in Cundletown. I have some funny memories of past travels up to Kempsey and surrounds before Cundletown was bypassed. It was a town well known for speeding fines (not me of course) and earned itself a most uncomplimentary nickname (again not by me of course) which I dare not post here
Just a question Freddie - on the northern side of the town, was there a statue of a horse and cart with folks sitting on it (or a couple of ex army cannons or something along those lines - perhaps an Anzac memorial) or is my mind playing tricks on me?
~~~~~Stringer and regular waves to friends posting here or elsewhere (you know who you are)~~~~~
Sandy that's a bit rough they won't let you out of your lease if you find somehwere else. Are you sure they can hold you to it?? Maybe you should get some advice??
my husband had complaints when he was on warfarin... he bruised easily and got pains in his leg muscles... so I'm glad your husband doesn't need to be on it for long
that was a good win by Essendon and a good win by the Tigers... we couldn't watch it as it was on Fox Sports
not sure if you're around Kopes but 10 goals to Jack. is impressive.. he is really firing atm
Lanre we've had miseable weather here all week.. so windy evey day and I've been grounded with a bad cold... I'm a bit better now , but still have it..
In the past couple of weeks we've been busy.. Dad who turns 90 in a couple of weeks had a hernia operation, so we were mostly worried abut him going under anaesthetic... but he came through it all very well
Dad wasn't suposed to be allowed to drive ( and Mum won't any more)... so we've been driving them around when they need to go somewhere Dad had a check up a week after the OP and was allowed to drive straight away and all dressings removed
he is amazing for his age
Afternoon
For what is it worth, a win against the Blues. At least that puts the events of last weekend behind us.
Hope you all had a great weekend.
A beautiful day here - we made the most of it down by the river and to C Y O'Connor beach. Incredible amount of development down there - I think it is ghastly actually but then I am a bit of a traditionalist.
May we all be as mobile as your Dad is at 90 Deb - isn't that great! I suspect he has not lost his sense of humour either - important to retain that too
