Laney you can buy bait that doesn't travel through the food chain. If you have heaps of rats there, traps might not be effective. I got bait from one of those pest control places last time I had mice.

I hope there are not heaps of them Karen - at least I don't think so .......... said hopefully .......

Being close to the water they are an occupational hazard and when the pest man came not so long ago he said there was little evidence of them.  I will get back onto him to see what he recommends and ask him about those alternative baits. Thanks

Laney I got mine from the flick man... You can't buy them in the shops. They're like cakes of soap.

I had huge...massive...cat sized...maybe small dog sized.,.water rats when I lived on the lake. OMG they were awful sneaky creatures and the flick man found a stash of food where my son had been feeding them his dinner roflmao

How big a cake of soap Karen?  The usual palmolive size or something smaller? We have some that have holes in the middle so they can be hammered onto fences with nails lol
