SPAM! Some online-gaming ads keep popping up while I'm using eBay.

I doubt very much it's anything to do with ebay. As another poster has said I would do a malware check on your computer as it sounds like you have been infected with some malware. Perhaps you have recently downloaded something, a toolbar perhaps, or clicked on a suspicious webpage that has affected your computer.

No popups on my computer happening which suggests the fault is with your computer.

I agree, it wouldnt be anything to do with ebay, so they wont help you.

I couldn't help thinking the spammer somehow works through eBay as the ads only pop up when I click a button in my eBay page.

It could just mean some adware has hooked onto your ebay cookies.

If you are running win 7 you can restore to an earlier point but you will lose any programs if you have recently installed them.

You may have clicked on a link in eBay or looked at some sellers items that had the malware attached to it, that's why it only appers when you come into eBay.
