All the food I was made to eat as a child that I hated.
It was a magic moment when I visited my mother as an adult and she served up a meal with a veggie I loathed. I left it on the side of the plate. She glared at me.....and then it dawned on her that she could no longer order me to eat it.
It's a bit like having your ex visit and when a TV programme you don't like (but he does) comes on, you just casually reach across for the remote and change the channel.
And since I started cooking for my own household, every meal I make is put in the middle of the table - buffet style - take what you want.
Family, friends, guests, whoever, can just take what they want to eat and in what quantities they want.
Even when it's just Hubs and I, I still do it.
I don't like telling people what to eat or how much.

I use the buffet style too Stawka. Must admit it pi**es me off though when someone dishes up their own meal and then leaves food uneaten on the plate. One of my son's friends was staying with us for a while and used to do it.

My English Grandparents used to do put all the food on the table seperate I used love it, going to their place for Sunday lunch.
Grand dad used to grow all his own veg, fresh and crisp.
Think there was always Chicken, did not think about it for years that I used to help Grand Dad feed his Chickens LOL
