Scam or real?

just got an email titled 'Paypal' with a message saying 'update your browser to continue using Paypal'

i assume its a scam, ive not opened it.

anyone else had it?

I got the same email, I live in the U.S. I did not open the link from the email. 

When I went to PP directly, it had the same message. There is a link on PP that checks your browser. I clicked it, and it said I was okay. 

I'm using a 6 year old mac.

10 years old has just passed in april 2018

its had a few repairs over the years, had hard drive failures 3 times since new.

lucky they have been getting cheaper, 10 years ago a 1TB HD was as big as they went and were expensive (my computer had 4 500gb HDs hooked up as 2 1TB drives) i'm now running 2 1TB drives, now 1TB is a small hard drive.

ive still got my previous desk top out in the shed, never throw anything away is me lol

i will only need to replace the box, been looking at one on ebay for a year now, companys got good feedback.

would need to add windows 10 to the price but the rest seems a good setup.

David, it is unlikely that your equipment will be able to support Windows 10.

I was in a similar position with a desktop....it had had very little use but I wanted to go back to the desktop instead of using my laptop all the time.

My lovely tame techie told me that the equipment just would not support Windows 10.

To be honest, the desktop systems are so cheap these days that you would be mad to try and update an old system....it will potentially cost you a packet when things just dont synchronise.

You can buy as large a screen as you like but you will find that most of the "big sexy box of stuff" under the desk will fit in a case smaller than the average shoebox.

thats what i fugured, this machines been doing its stuff for a long time but technology has moved on.

i have carp eyesight so the big screen works well for me.

still i bet when i do get the new box i really wont notice any difference, but i hope i do.
