Scam/spam freaky phone call from 0252525252

Don't answer it if they call you.

A lot of people are getting a call from this number. When you answer a voice says Hullo World.

If you try and ring the number back, you will get a disconnected message.

I have no idea what this is about. Hubby just got a call on his mobile from this number. When I checked on the net there are a lot of people getting the call.

Weird.

+252 is the country code for Somalia, so don't try and call them back either (will cost $$).

This is the only real info I could find on google...

"Caution, 025-252-5252 is a "spoofed" number, which means that whoever called you "tricked" your caller ID to display an incorrect phone number. Telemarketers do this so you cannot complain."

Mine didn't say hello.....it waited a while then said GOODBYE and hung up, I assumed it was a telemarketer.

Never since getting the unlisted # have we had problems.   The reason we got an unlisted number was because we were getting so many strange odd phone calls.

I had a Indian/Pakastan caller ring me last week from a Private Number, he started off by asking was I .................................. I said and who are you, he said Peter Jackson......hahaha yes of course you are. He then went on to tell me I was owed $7,500 by the Federal Government for overcharged Bank fees. Me, get off my phone you scamming ...................................... and don't ring me again. *click*

It wasn't +252... It was 02-5252-5252. Local to Australia.

They are also using a 07 and 03 number.

OH has recieved 2 calls from the 02 and one each from the 07 and 03.
