Schapelle Corby look at these facts

I'm not saying either way whether she was innocent or guilty but check out this excerpt below:

"In May, 2005, baggage handlers at Sydney Airport were arrested and accused of being paid $300,000 to help smuggle a briefcase of almost 10kg of cocaine. And the date of that was October 8, 2004 - the same day that Corby and her luggage were transiting from Brisbane, through Sydney airport to Bali. Corby's legal team said this added weight to the theory."

I don't understand why the Indonesian legal system did not take this into account. Do we have any law students here? Surely if police caught corrupt workers at the airport on the same day Schapelle was arrested should ring alarm bells? Yes or No?  I think it is reasonable to suspect corrupt baggage handlers could have had something to do with it, maybe? Is this enough proof? Beyond reasonable doubt?

How can anyone be found guilty of an airport drug crime on the same day and route that corrupt airport workers were busted for trying to smuggle drugs? Why was this not important to police prosecutors? Anyone know?

Re: Schapelle Corby look at these facts

The media seem more interested in Schapelle than the public, don't you think?

I don't know, you were the one who said "I cant wait" for the TV programme. I on the other hand can't be bothered.

And what made you think my name was Dorothy?

what would be the point of the media being interested if they think the public aren't? how will it improve their bottom line?

I have not seen Lindy in the news for years.

Oh, I think the public are interested, they're just not camped outside her hotel like the media, nor are they rushing at her when she's at the beach.

She has a very distinctive look and I find it doubtful that she could have gone unrecognised having a beer at one of Bali's most frequented bars by Aussie's and then frolicking in the surf out the front of the bar, afterwards. Yet she was left alone.

Why on earth a woman who is at the centre of a media blitz would choose such a famous spot where Aussie's frequent for her first swim at an exposed beach is anybody's guess. To me it feeds back into her love of celebrity. Not that I mind that - I like her and think she should exploit all she has and get as much as she can out of it.

As for Lindy, I know their stories are different but I use the comparison because I can't think of an Australian woman since Lindy who has become so notorious and poliarizing.

Schapelle is limited as to where she can go, she is on parole.

Yes, I am and I think the media interest in her is fascinating and justified but while there are many who find her story intriguing, I think more take your "can't be bothered" view. Look how many more people watched INXS, whereas I couldn't care less about Hutchence, his story or the band.

Different strokes, you know?

She's allowed to travel anywhere in Indonesia as long as she informs the authorities. I have been to Bali several times and there are many deserted beaches she could have chosen for her first "outing".
