The spoiled fish may have been caused by the fisherman.. too long before it was taken to a restaraunt for them to refrigerate?

NSW Health manager:

Scombroid food poisoning is caused by eating fish with toxic levels of histamine, which are triggered by inadequate refrigeration and cannot be reversed by cooking.

"The spoilage of the fish happens straight after the fish has been caught if it's not refrigerated properly," Ms Musto said.

"It's more common when fish is caught by recreational fishermen or when refrigeration isn't available."

Fish that smells old or off should not be consumed, as it could present a risk of scombroid poisoning.

Scombroid poisoning can be differentiated from other types of food poisoning by its rapid onset; diners usually feel ill 30 minutes after eating spoiled fish.

Symptoms include flushing of the upper body, dizziness, a peppery or metallic taste in the mouth, diarrhoea, and tingling and numbness in fingers, toes and around the mouth.

Was listening to a dr on the radio today, the particular fish they ate, if not refrigerated properly, releases a bacteria. It's not killed off by freezing or cooking and it undetectable. It releases histamines, which considering they had asthma medication with them, very sad accidental deaths.

there are some spore forming bacteria (usually related to clostridium botuli though)

Who said they're mild? The amount of medications in the room boggled my mind, who takes that much with them overseas? Or has them at home. The "likely" is the reporters words. And a third case indicates that the restaurant has an issue with storing raw foods.

It wasn't  that vague. Their family are satisfied with the report. They are pleased the tests were done in Australia.

An Australian man has died after being found unconscious in a Bali restaurant, local police say

....Unspecified medicines from Australia were found in his room, Mr Nyoman said. 

The body is now at Sanglah hospital, waiting for autopsy, pending his parents' approval. 

"Since there was no trauma found externally and because of his history of heart condition (according to his parents), we would understand if the parents decided against an autopsy."

Mr Nyoman said he had spoken to the doctor who had told him it was possible that, because of Fitzgerald's heart condition, when he vomited, it had gone into his respiratory pathway instead and choked him.

and "could have made no difference" is very different to didn't make a difference" That's just damage control for the restaurant.

anyway, not playing with semantics, I'll leave that to the journos.

But science doesn't generally work with non specifics, semantics and normative statements.

I think it is coincidence that the results from the mother & daughter were available for release, in the same week Schapelle is expected to get good news about her release.
