Some states are planning return of students to on-campus study , but still viral mitigation seems to me an issue ( ref Singapore experience) and so social-distancing

Just wondering to ensure expected safety

Would it be feasible to compress the units to half duration ? Split the study day into half - morning and afternoon shifts and designate half the students to study in the morning and the other half to study in the afternoon

This way classes will be at half density - so social distancing can be improved , yet without any decay in learning

( I am sure half duration classes is plausible  - to a large extent labour effort outcomes efficiencies increase or decrease as per allocated time duration )

BTW why are face masks not mandated ?

the only reason schools were not shut down was the govt needed a ready made child care service for kids of parents who worked

it made little sense when just about everything else was shutting down to think schools could be exempt from the spread of the virus

oh , splitting the class into 2 shifts for the duration seemed like a good idea to me, so as to increase social-distancing in the class  - and I still do not know why masks are not required , even if just peace of mind for the tutors and would instill a sense of seriousness and maybe reduce incidence of colds etc
