Grabbing a woman's arm and making her shake his hand when she didnt want to do it, was NOT a good look, it's called assault   .... If he had done it to me, I would have had him charged with assault. He has NO right to do this to anyone

He also did to one of firies, he got up and walked out in disgust, cant say I blame him

He needs to learn to keep his hands to himself

Some people here must think all the Red Cross staff are like those ladies that man the op shops i.e all volunteers. As you point out there is a mess of work evaluating all the cases. Field workers visiting claimants, in lots of cases out in the backblocks. Perhaps 4WD's are required and might have to be leased short term. Then there's the office staff at Red Cross HQ who have to process all the paperwork etc. $11 million doesn't go far if you've got a couple of hundred people on the payroll.

But they are all added expenses required to administer the donations. The Red Cross isn't a government department, they don't get money from the budget.

The headline was ' Admin Costs '.

$11.5 mill.

Nowhere did it state - Overall Costs.

I do understand - vehicles - fuel - people - aid.

But this was a clear - headline - Admin Costs.

One of many stories of people desperately needing some $$$$ so they can start to rebuild their lives   ...... so WHY are the Red X and other charities holding onto it?   Greed perhaps?  .....  People donated this money in good faith "thinking" it would go straight to those who need it   ..... Perhaps they will think again, next time this happens
