Is full of it, how can a Minister go on and on and on, for what about 3/4hr, repeating the same ole over and over again without answering the questions asked of him? All he done was repeat his "crystal clear" slogan when in fact nothing is crystal clear except his Government's failure to stop the boats, as per their election promise.

yes, if someone broke into my home I would consider that criminal
if someone came to me seeking help. I would help them
two totally different scenarios
think about it
& who says they are most likely opportunists??
you??

And your time under canvas at least had an end-game - you knew you would be "liberated" from these conditions at some time in the not-too-distant future, whereupon you could rejoin your community at large and have a nice ice-cold beer.
It's specious to compare the two.
You forgot the $$$$$$$$, special allowance (in some areas) per day which is twice as much as my weekly income.

@poddster wrote:Debra that satisfies my curiosity, in my scenario you have concluded that unlawful entry and demands are criminal in nature with out having prior knowledge of the background of the invaders.
Yet you ar willing to defend others, of whom you have no prior knowledge as to their background, on the ground that you you deem them "asylum seekers" when in fact they are most likely opportunity seekers.
You are attempting to draw a parallel between 2 scenarios with no similarities.
The home invader question is totally irrelevant to the asylum seeker issue.

Debra, Freaki, just so that everyone is clear on the differences, could either of you explain what the differences are in a the unlawful entry into a country and the unlawful entry into a home.
In neither scenario was there permission sought or granted

Could only have been written by someone who has never spent a day in uniform, nor one second on the wall, and though well versed as to their rights, believes they have been gifted so it falls to someone else protect them, whilst they sit and ponder the meaning of life over a cold chardy or two.

Polka, these invaders did not 'knock on the door' and neither did they "ask for help" but instead they have attempted to force their way in.
