Sea Lion Attacks Trainer At Seaworld

A SEA lion who didn't take kindly to being weighed has attacked an animal trainer at Sea World on the Gold Coast.

THE 28-year-old suffered a minor cut to his arm, Sea World said in a statement.

The theme park said the man was trying to carry out a routine weight check on the animal when the incident happened.

"An ambulance was called to attend to the trainer. Following the incident, both the sea lion and trainer are in a good condition," Sea World said.

The sea lions are coming into their breeding season which can lead to them being in an excited state, the park said.

Re: Sea Lion Attacks Trainer At Seaworld

There are 39 species of whale in the world can you name them?
I bet the ones you can name either have been exploited by hunting or kept in captivity .
While I'm not a big fan of keeping them in captivity if keeping 1 or 2 in captivity gets them under people's noses and saves hundreds then I can reconcile with it , unfortunately humans react best when they can visualise & humanise an animal the cuter it can look the more we can empathise with it and then we educate , defend and proliferate

theme park's only concern in the well being of any of their captives is to keep them healthy to bring in the money.

if they cared at all about conservation and education they would show natural behaviours in natural environments.

orcas especially have a torturous existence in captivity
