I need your help and advice on where is best to stay in Sydney.
We need to be at the Australian Technology park in Sydney in April and i would like to stay somewhere very close for the weekend.
I note that the Alexandria Hotel is very close, but it doesnt do accomodation (according to its website) ๐
Any suggestions? Cheap would be best as 2 nights for 3 adults might cost a pretty penny, and I dont know the city that well at all.
nothing fancy, just a bed and a shower really.
Thanks Sydney-ites ๐ xooxxo

jane as I live in Sydney I don't really know much about hotels but I have found the below link I hope it will help.
On my travels I have stayed in the Formula 1 hotels and they are not to bad, cheap, very basic but clean and I think they still provide a continental breakfast.

If you are going out at night for a meal New Town is a great place to eat but stay away from Redfern especially after dark.

Hello, I can only tell you where NOT to go...
Last year about this time we stayed in Cronulla, at a Caravan Park there, that had "newly refurbished" cabins.
Absolutely ugh!! and if this cabins were newly refurbished, then they must've been truly terrible prior. Disgusting!
The website looks great, but in actuality, the place is absolutely dire. We booked the best 'luxury' (pause for laughter) cabin, the biggest (3 adults in our party), and the one that looked top notch on their website.
On arrival, stunned because the caravan park (no caravans, only cabins) itself is up a lane at the rear of a seedy shopping centre, that cabin looked as revolting as the others, but we did only see the outside of it, because even though we paid for it months in advance; they gave it to NZ family members - so we got the next one down the line with a small refund.

Try here:
http://www.australiansunriselodge.com.au/
Short walk to Newtown or St Peters stations and get the train to Redfern.
If you want a better class of hotel and want to pay more try:
http://www.rydges.com/accommodation/sydney-nsw/camperdown/welcome?gclid=COmyxsb_hbYCFSFgpgodlgcAtw
You could get a train from Newtown to Redfern.
