Setting up a Facebook Business page

Can someone enlighten me please. Is it best to have just a Page where you get likes or a page under the business name where you can have 'Friends'. Does one work better than the other, are there pros and cons.

I have both but not sure how to work it? Its the way to go in his day and age, would appreciate any advice.

Re: Setting up a Facebook Business page

Karli said much the same. I did the page first but it seems a lot of local businesses work with the friends set up.

Probably why I am confused!

Now I don't know which one to status update and don't want to bore people twice!

The trouble with friend pages for business is that facebook will shut them down if/when they discover them.  Some finds are random others by report.  It might be worth searching the help page to see if you can merge the pages. Otherwise you could send a message to the friends asking them to like the other page instead.

Re: Setting up a Facebook Business page

Stick with the business one. If you build up the personal one and it is removed, you lose everything. A competitor could dob you in to FB.

The local tourism centre here had a personal page with 800 friends. It was closed and they had to start again with a business one.
