LL: " well its hard to root out all the people who join for disingenuous reasons. joining last week or the week before wouldn't buy a vote anyway, as you have to have been a member for a year to vote....."

Actually LL originally only members of two years' standing were eligible to vote, but that was  changed to all ALP party members who were financial at 7 September 2013

Rules,  if inconvenient change them!

Perhaps  JMK might realise that the spurt in ALP membership would possibly be due to attempts to bolster numbers for a preferred candidate, rather than a desire to  join and change her "great Party forever".

Re: Shorten new leader

Who trusts this man... seriously... he was behind the knocking off of Rudd... then the knocking off of Gillard and then he claims the leadership himself.

true, as far as the voting rules go.  it sure as bleep beats having no say whatsoever as in the LNP however. Smiley Happy members who are ladies get to make sadwiches and cups of tea for the men there at least, like a ladies auxiliary at a lodge
