Should polititians forefit their pariamentary pensions if they leave the economy in worse state then it was when they came to govenment?

Yes, by being paid their salary and then by being reelected for the following term.

Even bad service would have its rewards while in government

Yes, that is the same for any employee. Even bad employees get paid and have access to any other benefits associated with their jobs.

Bad service also does carry with it some pretty nasty penalties - I mean they get publicly humiliated, crucified by the media, and vegemite sandwiches thrown at them. Just imagine what would happen if our Prime Minister got caught at the beach in her swimwear or sucking someone's toes on an Island holiday....

It is the pension I am refering to
