Re: Should the Burqa be banned in Australia

did anyone happen to watch the 7.30 report last night?

burqua's backyard

I was having trouble understanding why the lady would choose to wear a burqua ( when she clearly didn't have to), she was 5th generation Australian I think.  It seemed to me she chose to wear as a sort of a protest about freedom of choice & anti muslim sentiment

What did anyone anyone else think?

Re: Should the Burqa be banned in Australia

it was actually a niqab she chose to wear, not a burqua and she wore it against her mothers advice, her mother only wore the scarf covering her hair

Re: Should the Burqa be banned in Australia

I saw it debra, but I didn't get any message that she was protesting anything. I thought she was saying it was her personal choice and no one, especially her husband, was making her do it. Her mother said that she, the daughter, was more spiritual and that's why she chose to do it.
What I got from it was her saying yes she wears a burqa but otherwise she is just like you and me and not someone to be afraid of.

Re: Should the Burqa be banned in Australia

it was because she said that she started wearing it after 9/11 that I thought of 'protest" but I agree with you about the personal choice aspect, & what her mother said about her being more spiritual

i found it interesting, also she didn't enforce weaing it upon her daughters, they only wore the scarf head covering too

Another nauseating story by the left leaning ABC to justify their existance.  The story was on par or below the tripe  served up by ACA

Our taxes go to fund this nonsense!

Thank goodness we have Murdoch otherwise the entire media would be left leaning

But back to the  nauseating story by the left leaning ABC (and sadly I watched the show last night)

It was done in 2012 (over 2 years ago)  and the ABC is re-cycling old stories..... Poor form and same old rubbish from the left....   In fact the ABC re-cycled the rubbish that the Sunday night program did in 2012 with the same go to girl for this rubbish....  Anisa Khan is well versed in being the darling of the fawing left and doing these stories

Wearing the burqa after 9/11??  to protest? wearing the burqa after 9/11 in a western civilization is the eff you protest.

Now we are faced with islamic extremists in our own country, extremist who at this very minute are plotting to kill us and they think the burqa is OK? and all that it represents is OK?

The security forces know just how much support there is out there for isil from the "peace loving" islamists.

Re: Should the Burqa be banned in Australia

thank goodness hardly anyone buys murdoch papers, full of right wing trash & unconfirmed stories

who cares if an old story was aired on ABC it is rather relelvent to today, don't you think?

only a couple of weeks ago you started this thread about the discussioin of burqa wearing & that's what the program was about, so it is relevent. if it wasn't relevant, why did you start a thread to discuss it?
